Botulinum Toxin (BoNT) or “Botox”
BoNT is a molecule that we know pretty well ; we have known it for more than 40 years!
BoNT is used today in a lot of treatments other than aesthetic, including the treatment of neurological pathology, neck pains or urinary incontinence in much more higher doses than in the aesthetic treatments.

BoTN is a purified protein which, once injected in a muscle, leads to a targeted
relaxation of it in a temporary and reversible manner.
Therefore, BoTN acts on the expression wrinkles caused by a muscle activity, essentially the top half of the face (the glabella or “frown line” between the eyebrows, the forehead wrinkles and crow’s feet around the eyes). Injections are painless. They are performed with a micro needle. No anaesthetic lotion needs to be applied beforehand. The session lasts around 20 minutes. The treated area may remain red for 15 or 30 minutes. A bruise can appear but it is not frequent.
Headaches can appear for 2 or 3 days within 2 weeks after the injections. A painkiller may be given. It is recommended not to lay down or to work out 3 hours after the injections.
Besides that, everything else is allowed : bath, shower, lotion, make-up ... Injections are made during the summer and the winter.
Pregnancy, breastfeeding and some rare neuromuscular illnesses are contraindications to the treatment.
The first results of the treatment appear within 2 and 5 days, and the effect is optimal after 2 weeks. An adjustment is sometimes necessary after 2 weeks.
The results last for 4 to 6 months. The treatments are spread 6 months apart the first 2 years to be more and more spread afterward.
The treatment is absolutely not painful and the results are dashing.
BoTN is also used to treat excessive sweating of the armpits and hands.
