Sculptra :
Collagen biostimulators
SCULPTRA is one of the most potent (FDA approved) collagen biostimulators, made up of polylactic acid, a naturally occurring substance in our bodies. Used worldwide for more than 25 years, it is known for its effectiveness in combating skin sagging and collagen loss. Thanks to its ability to stimulate collagen production, SCULPTRA improves skin firmness, elasticity and texture.

The indications for Sculptra are mainly related to loss of skin elasticity, sagging skin and beginner lines on the cheeks. It is injected mainly in the face, and more rarely in the neck.

Treatment

Typically, 2 to 3 injections are required, spaced 6 weeks apart. The first results are visible between 6 and 8 weeks after the first injection, and the effects last for about 2 years.

Comfort and Safety

The injections are not painful, being performed with a cannula, which prevents bruising (or very little) after treatment. An anesthetic cream is not required before injection, but if you wish, a prescription for an Emla cream can be provided.

After injection

After injections, the treated area may remain slightly tender and swollen for 48 hours. It is advisable to avoid intensive sports for 24 hours after the treatment, and wait 5 days before using the sauna, steam room or jacuzzi. Massage of the treated area (5x5 minutes per day for 5 days) is also recommended, according to the rule of three 5. The face can be made up immediately after treatment.
